Established in 2021 and funded by Peter Werth and the Housatonic Community College Foundation, the Werth Center supports high school and college students, and community members in their entrepreneurial aspirations.
Today, the Werth Center is CT State's statewide hub for innovation and entrepreneurship. Our main location is on the Housatonic campus, and we serve students, faculty, staff, alumni, and community members on all 12 CT State campuses. Whether your idea becomes a business, a creative project, or a new way to solve a problem, we'll help you build it.
What We Offer
- Makerspace: 3D printing, silkscreen, UV imprinting, sewing and embroidery, and an electronics station
- Business coaching: one-on-one guidance from experienced entrepreneurs
- Workshops: ideation, pricing, pitching, business formation, and financial basics
- Funding: pitch competitions, encouragement grants, and loan guarantees
- Mentoring: the Werth Center Mentoring Program, with tracks in workforce/career development, entrepreneurship, and personal development
