Steps to Become a Student
Find Your Student Type
- Apply for admission
- Apply for financial aid (optional)
- Set up and log into your myCTState account
- Complete the CT State Community College – New Student Online Orientation
- Meet with your Guided Pathways advisor
- Register for classes
- Print your class schedule
- Pay your tuition and fees
- Get your textbooks
- Get your college photo ID
- Sign up and attend In-Person New Student Orientation

- Apply for admission
- Setup and log into your myCTState account
- Request your official college transcript to be sent CT State Community College through a verified electronic service such as Parchment, College Board, National Student Clearinghouse etc. OR via email to CTState-TranscriptEval@ct.edu OR by postal mail.

Create or access your myCTState account to manage your registration, payments, and course details. - Explore Financial Assistance Options
Financial assistance may be available for eligible students. Visit the Funding Options page to learn about scholarships, grants, and other available resources. - Pay Tuition and Fees
Follow the payment instructions provided upon registration. Ensure your tuition and fees are paid in full before your course begins. - Obtain Required Textbooks
Check your course materials list and purchase any required textbooks or supplies prior to the start of class. - Get Your CT State Student ID
Visit your campus or follow the online instructions for your campus to receive your official CT State student photo ID. - Attend and Complete Your Course
Engage fully in your course to develop new skills and knowledge. Upon successful completion, you may receive a certificate or other credential, depending on the program.
