Christopher Chute
Chief of Police
Chief Chute comes to CT State Community College with a wealth of experience and knowledge in law enforcement. He began his career in 1996 and has consistently demonstrated a strong commitment to public safety and community engagement. Prior to joining CSCC, he served as Chief of Police for the New Britian Police Department, which is considered to be one of the most progressive agencies in Connecticut, suggesting a substantial and diverse staff structure.
He holds a Master’s in Computer Information Technology and a Bachelor's in Political Science/Public Administration. He is also a certified forensic computer examiner and polygraph examiner
Since becoming CT State’s inaugural Chief of Police, he has led efforts to modernize and unify campus safety operations across 12 campuses and several satellite learning locations.
The officers and public safety personnel under his leadership are dedicated to proactive policing, transparency and building strong relationships with students, faculty and staff while serving with professionalism, integrity and care.
