New Student
I've never attended another college or university after receiving my high school diploma.

Welcome! Students must first apply and be admitted to CT State before meeting with an advisor. Prior to your meeting, please ensure placement documents and transcripts are on file with the Admissions office. This will ensure you receive the best advising experience. Without placement information and/or transfer credits in the system, the GP Advising team will be limited in how they can assist you.

THE STATEMENTS BELOW MUST BE TRUE TO PROCEED WITH SCHEDULING AN ADVISING APPOINTMENT:

  • I have applied and been accepted to CT State Community College
  • I have submitted my high school transcript, official SAT/ACT scores or GED
  • My immunization form and/or matriculation items have been sent to the Admissions Office
Immunizations are your vaccination records (measles, mumps, rubella, varicella). Matriculation Items may be a copy of your HS transcript, proof of residency or citizenship.
  • I have completed my FAFSA and/or plan to set up payment plan with the business office
  • I have declared a major and home campus at CT State Community College
  • I have scheduled a PAW workshop
  • I have completed the PAW Assessment Form
  • I have successfully set up my myCTState student account

What Are PAW Workshops?

As a first-time college student, we know that you're excited to pick out your major, select your first-semester courses and learn more about the opportunities that CT State Norwalk has to offer. Our First-Year advising team is here to help you get started.

Students entering college for the first time are required to attend a Panther Advising Workshop (PAW) prior to registering for their first semester at CT State Norwalk. The workshop will include:

  • a one-on-one or group meeting with an academic advisor
  • Important information about being a student at CT State Norwalk
  • Registration for your first semester courses
  • Instructions on how to use myCTState and your NetID
Continuing Student
I am currently enrolled and taking credit courses at CT State.

Continuing students are encouraged to connect with their Guided Pathways (GP) advisor to prepare for registration and their faculty advisor or Program Coordinator to learn more about their degree path. To guarantee time with your advisor, please schedule an appointment. Advisors can meet with you in-person, virtually, or over the phone. Same day service is not guaranteed without an appointment.

THE STATEMENTS BELOW MUST BE TRUE TO PROCEED WITH SCHEDULING AN ADVISING APPOINTMENT:

  • I have reviewed my progress towards the completion of my degree using DegreeWorks.
  • I have prepared a list of courses to consider for next semester
  • I have a list of questions to discuss with my GP advisor
