Executive Dean, Workforce Innovations and Partnerships
Executive Dean Fay Godbolt brings more than 35 years of experience as a strategic and innovative leader dedicated to strengthening communities by empowering individuals through education, training and workforce development. She works collaboratively to ensure CT State delivers responsive non-credit, short-term and customized training that meets business and industry needs while building strong partnerships with community stakeholders.
A highly experienced workforce development professional, Godbolt has served in both academic and nonprofit leadership roles, with expertise in managing regional and statewide projects, collaborating with Boards of Education, community organizations, faith communities and higher education partners. She previously served as Campus Director of Workforce Development and Continuing Education at Naugatuck Valley, overseeing programs that advanced workforce training, business and industry services and personal enrichment.
Earlier in her career, she directed major community-based initiatives at Yale University School of Medicine, including a regional lead abatement program that established a $1.2 million safe house and provided technical assistance in creating lead-safe housing across multiple states. She also served as Executive Director of a nonprofit organization, where she developed a One Stop Vocational Training Center and launched social enterprises to expand services for underserved populations. They included a childcare center, cosmetology school and rehabilitation training agency.
Godbolt holds a master’s degree in human service administration from Antioch University, a bachelor’s degree in social work from Southern Connecticut State University, and a certificate in philanthropy and fundraising from New York University. She is a strong advocate for equity, opportunity, and community-based change.
