SolidWorks is one of the largest computer-aided design (CAD) software programs used globally across numerous industries including manufacturing, automotive, aerospace, defense, medical devices, robotics and automation, consumer products, construction and more.

CT State offers SolidWorks Level I and Level II training, providing you with experience working individually and as part of a team utilizing practical scenarios introducing you to the paperless computer-based design process using SolidWorks, a parametric 3-D design software. This course covers topics including design process, design engineering, assembly modeling, mechanism analysis, rapid prototyping, team design, geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T), and analysis of tolerance stackups. The course combines on-ground and online teaching methods and using guided tutorials, you’ll learn how to make simple parts and assemblies with corresponding drawings to draft standards as well as more complex parts, assemblies and drawings. You will also have the opportunity to work closely with the CNC Machining course to simulate a real-world manufacturing shop environment. Textbooks and exams are included in the price.

In This Course You’ll Learn To:

  • develop proficiency in parametric modeling using SolidWorks software, enabling the creation of complex 3-D designs
  • thoroughly understand the paperless computer-based design process and its applications in engineering and manufacturing
  • apply design engineering principles to solve real-world design challenges effectively
  • Understand and utilize assembly modeling, mechanism analysis, rapid prototyping and geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T).
  • collaborate effectively within a team environment to execute design projects, while also demonstrating the ability to independently analyze tolerance stackups.

Admission Requirements:

  • Must be at least 18 years of age
  • GED or high school diploma
