Tamarack
The Tamarack publicizes news of the Naugatuck Valley campus and the world and is a voice of our campus. This is a charge we do not take lightly. In the current divisive atmosphere, we make every effort to maintain journalistic integrity and provide factual news and insightful opinions. We also take seriously our focus on issues of social justice. Each issue covers topics of importance, balanced with arts and culture features. In bringing a monthly newspaper to readers, we hope to highlight the good work of our colleagues at Naugatuck Valley students, faculty and staff and to further polish the reputation of CT State in the greater Waterbury area and beyond. Working as a creative team, Tamarack staff members meet the goals of developing important skills of communication, collaboration and critical thinking. We are honored to carry on the proud tradition of this publication. The Tamarack has remained dedicated to issues of importance to the campus and the broader community. We take on topics of global importance, including social justice issues, such as gender equity, systemic racism, immigration, the environment, mental illness, homelessness and more. In this way, we hope to raise awareness and enlighten our readers in a cultural environment where truth is often challenged. We remain committed to elevating the level of knowledge and conversation on things that matter.
