Art Club is for students who want to take their interests in art to the next level, whether they're a creative person looking to work on their own projects or an appreciator of art who wants to learn what makes their favorite work tick. Everybody is welcome to join–no artistic talent is needed.

Board Game Club

The Board Game Club aims to promote connection among students outside of class while we destress from schoolwork and socialize. This club establishes teamwork and community by allowing students to meet others, play games and build relationships.

Business Club

The Tunxis Business Club provides activities for its members to gain experience and knowledge in business, promote communication and networking among students, faculty, staff, alumni and local business leaders, improve the community and educate the campus community on various business topics.

Community Conversations Club

Originally started as a place for English language learners to practice their English in a fun, casual environment, the Community Conversations Club provides a welcoming, safe place for all students to share and express themselves and their culture and appreciate the diverse CT State Tunxis community. In this club, members converse, establish friendships and build connections with other students and with the greater campus community. Past special events have included a Talcott Mountain hike, a campus-wide movie day, a picnic in the courtyard and a trip to the New Britain Museum of Modern Art. It’s not necessary to be an international student to participate in this club. All CT State Tunxis students are welcome!

Community Outreach Club

The Tunxis Community Outreach Club organizes all types of outreach activities to benefit the Tunxis campus and local community. Past projects have included several Faces of Homelessness Speakers events, a sock drive for local homeless residents, clothing drives and thrifting events, a Connect 2.0 survey on diversity and our Tunxis student's sense of belonging, a Bring It to the Table event on political conversations, a mental health forum (considering) the community college shooting in Oregon, a community game night and several baking or coffee beverage sales and drives to benefit Tunxis students and the St. Vincent de Paul homeless shelter.

Criminal Justice Club

The Tunxis Criminal Justice Club strives to bring attention to the positive impact local law enforcement has on our community and allows students to show their appreciation through donation events, acts of service and the ability to share their ideas on potential ways to become active in the policing community. The CJ Club also allows students to network with potential employers, including state agencies, law enforcement and other criminal justice-related professions. Our overall goal as a club is to give back to our community and help students get that first step into their future careers early on in their collegiate journey.

Dental Assisting Club

The Dental Assisting Club is a group of future allied dental professionals dedicated to promoting dental health on the Tunxis campus and within the community. Club members consist of students enrolled in the Dental Assisting Certificate program and they participate in the local dental assisting association, CTDAA and become members. In addition to fundraising for club activities, the club participates in dental health education and oral hygiene-related community outreach programs such as educating Tunxis preschoolers about oral health for Children’s Dental Health Month.

Future Educators Club

The Future Educations Club acquaints education majors with the other students in the field and gives education majors the opportunity to extend their classroom knowledge to their field of study. The club is also an opportunity to further the understanding of preschool through grade 12 education beyond the boundaries of the classroom and offer an opportunity for social involvement among students and faculty.

Gaming Club

The Gaming Club is a coalition of gaming enthusiasts on the Tunxis campus who wish to provide a fun and safe environment for students to pursue all interests in gaming as an extracurricular activity. The Gaming Club consists of all varieties of games, such as video games, card games, board games and even role-playing games like Dungeons and Dragons. Through gaming, we instill camaraderie and unity in students and provide a forum for discussion and debate related to all aspects of the gaming community.

Healthy Minds Club

Healthy Minds promotes mental wellness strategies and works to reduce the stigma associated with common mental health conditions, such as anxiety and depression. We help provide students with open communication and encourage everyone to share their thoughts and ideas. In the past, we've had engaging workshops and student panels, game nights, weekly discussions, art activities and lots of other exciting mental health events. Join us in removing the stigma surrounding mental health while building meaningful connections within your college community.

Human Services Club

The Human Services Club seeks to provide services for students on the Tunxis campus ranging from mental health resources, educational talks and events and free tampons and pads we have distributed around campus. The club focuses on making our campus a safer and more welcoming place for students through our countless hours of discussion and volunteer work. The members of the club are all very involved in weekly activities and most of them attend the weekly meeting, though this is not strictly enforced.

Jam Club

Do you play any instruments? Want to learn an instrument? Love music? Then the Tunxis Jam Club is the place to be! During club meetings, members have full access to an array of instruments, including acoustic and electric guitars, an electronic drum kit, keyboards and more. All of our members have varying levels of experience so you don’t have to worry about your abilities. Everyone is welcome to join, even if you have no experience with music.

Jewish Student Union

The Jewish Student Union is dedicated to fostering a safe environment for students of all faiths on campus by supporting representation for Jewish students in student government and academics, promoting the education of Jewish culture, tradition, language, history and religion among non-Jewish students, creating a strong dialogue with other communities on campus and aiding in the development of each student’s potential academically, professionally, religiously and individually. Through our partnerships with Temple Sinai of Newington, JSU International, Jewish On Campus, Hillel International and The Jewish Federation of Greater Hartford, we host student activities, regular meetings and events throughout Connecticut, bringing together a wider community of students.

Muslim Student Association (MSA)

The Tunxis Muslim Student Association (MSA) club serves as a vibrant focal point for students to engage in cultural, educational, and community-oriented activities. We host events to educate the community on our beliefs and we give a deeper insight into our practices while fostering an inclusive environment where students of all backgrounds can come together to celebrate Islamic culture, values and traditions. Through events such as interfaith dialogues, cultural showcases and community service initiatives, the MSA promotes understanding, unity and social responsibility on campus and beyond. Through regular meetings, workshops and social gatherings, members have the opportunity to deepen their understanding of Islam, engage in meaningful discussions and forge lasting friendships. Beyond the campus borders, the MSA extends its impact through outreach programs and collaborations with local organizations. Whether through intercollegiate events or hosting educational seminars, the MSA serves as a light of charity and understanding in the broader community. We inspire fellow students to embrace diversity, promote dialogue and work towards a more inclusive society, leaving a lasting legacy of unity and service at CT State Tunxis.

Paralegal Association

The purpose of the Paralegal Association is to provide support and fellowship to students in the program. This club offers students regular opportunities throughout the semester to connect with each other and with one of our club advisors, who is the Paralegal program coordinator. The club sponsors events, both formal and informal, to educate paralegal students about the paralegal profession and to meet professionals employed in the field. The Paralegal Club is a community for individuals interested in the field of paralegal studies and legal assistance. Whether you're a student aspiring to become a paralegal, already working in the legal field or simply fascinated by the law, our club provides a platform for networking, learning and professional development.
