Northwestern: SNAP Employment & Training Community College Opportunities
Winsted, CT – Northwestern CT Community College announces free training opportunities for state residents who receive benefits through the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP), which was formerly known as food stamps. The SNAP Employment & Training (E&T) program is a free, federal job training program designed to help SNAP recipients gain skills to secure employment and increase financial stability.
If a prospective student is receiving SNAP in Connecticut and is not receiving Temporary Family Assistance (TFA-Temporary Cash Assistance), they may be eligible to participate in no-cost job training at any of the Connecticut Community Colleges. Existing students may also apply for assistance with books, uniforms, transportation costs, and other program related expenses. SNAP E&T scholarships are offered all year long, so it’s always the right time to apply.
