Academic Success
What Can I Do With This Major? is a website featuring 100 major profiles, which include information on common career paths, types of employers that tend to hire in the field, and strategies to maximize opportunities.
CT State Library
The library supports student success with research and citation guides, tutorials and research appointments. Students also have access to electronic books, journals, newspapers, streaming videos, 3D modules, and more through the Library's online subscriptions.
Students use Blackboard when taking online courses. Find all your class information in one place: assignments, grades and more.
All CT State students, faculty and staff have access to the latest version of the full Microsoft Office productivity suite, including Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, OneNote and more.
Success Outside the Classroom
New Student Online Orientation
All new, transfer and re-admit students are strongly encouraged to complete Online Orientation. Upon completion, students will have unlimited access to:

Engage is the place to find news and information from college clubs, organizations, offices and departments. Check the calendar, RSVP and connect with organizers, all in one application.

Technology Assistance
The Information Technology department supports students, faculty and staff with IT services, including email, WAN, internet, Blackboard, Banner, Office 365, client security, websites and more.
CT State uses an AI chat feature as its initial tech support response to students and faculty. Please note that it may contain errors or omissions or generate inaccurate responses. Please be sure to review and validate responses before use.
Text Alerts
Get alerted about emergencies and other important community news by signing up for our Emergency Alert program. This system enables us to provide you with critical information quickly in a variety of situations, such as severe weather, unexpected road closures, missing persons and evacuations of buildings or neighborhoods.
You will receive time-sensitive messages wherever you specify, such as your home, mobile or business phones, email address, text messages and more. You pick where, you pick how.
CARE Referrals
You may complete a CARE Referral if you:
- need additional support
- are concerned about the well-being of a campus member
- feel that a campus member has become disruptive or a threat to the community
Whether you’re under the weather, anxious or overwhelmed, TimelyCare allows you to be able to talk to a licensed provider from your smartphone or any web-enabled device. Providers are available to offer medical and mental health support via phone or secure video visits. This service is free for CT State students.
Career Success
The Occupational Information Network (O*NET) is a free online database that contains hundreds of job definitions to help students, job seekers, businesses and workforce development professionals understand today's world of work.

FOCUS 2 Career enables students to assess their values, skills and interests and explore career fields and major areas of study that are compatible with their assessment results.
To get started, use your school login credentials to access myCTState and you will find the link to Access FOCUS 2 from the Career Services card on the myCTState landing page. Follow the instructions to create an account and begin exploring!
