Campus President, CT State Naugatuck Valley, CT State Northwestern

A dedicated higher education leader, Campus President Rooke has worked within the Connecticut community colleges for nearly two decades, with roles at Manchester, Tunxis and Northwestern. He has served as Campus President of CT State Northwestern since 2015, guiding the campus through its transition to the new CT State structure while maintaining a strong focus on student success, academic quality and community impact.

Before his presidency, Campus President Rooke served as Dean of Academic Affairs at Tunxis Community College and as Division Director of Business and Technology at Manchester Community College. In 2020, he was appointed Interim Provost and Vice President of Academic Affairs for the newly merged CT State Community College, where he played a key role in systemwide policy and academic coordination. In 2022, after successfully supporting the accreditation review by NECHE, he returned full-time to lead Northwestern. He was named Campus President at CT State Naugatuck Valley in July 2025.

Campus President Rooke has been a statewide leader in advancing equity, access and student-centered innovation. He championed the creation of a student emergency fund and a campus-wide peer mentoring program at Northwestern and was instrumental in launching a common academic calendar across all CSCU institutions. He also played a leadership role in revising developmental education policy, expanding access to credit-bearing courses in English and mathematics.

Earlier in his career, Campus President Rooke was a faculty member at the University of Hartford and held IT and instructional technology leadership roles at Long Island University’s C.W. Post campus. He remains active in his community, serving on the boards of the Northwest CT Chamber of Commerce, American Mural Project and Torrington/Winsted Rotary. He is also a corporator of Hartford HealthCare’s Charlotte Hungerford Hospital and a board member of the Northwest CT Regional Workforce Investment Board.

Campus President Rooke holds a Ph.D. in Analytical Chemistry from Kansas State University, an M.S. in Educational Technology from Long Island University, and a B.Sc. in Applied Chemistry from Nottingham Trent University in the UK.

Darryl Reome, Ed.D.

Vice Provost, Student Affairs

Dr. Darryl Reome has more than two decades of leadership experience in public higher education, with expertise in student and academic affairs, strategic planning, enrollment management and community engagement. In 2025, he was appointed as the inaugural Vice Provost of Student Affairs at CT State Community College.

Previously, Dr. Reome served as Campus Chief Executive Officer of CT State Tunxis, where he managed operations, a $30 million budget, 86 academic programs, and multiple facilities. Under his leadership, the campus stabilized enrollment, improved retention, and increased graduation rates. In 2020, he received the Phi Theta Kappa Paragon Award for New Presidents.

He has also held senior leadership roles across the Connecticut State Colleges and Universities system, including at Tunxis Dean of Student Affairs; Dean of Academic Affairs and Director of Advising, Counseling and Student Retention at Tunxis; at Northwestern, Associate Dean of Student Affairs and Enrollment Management; and at Middlesex, Director of Admissions. As an adjunct professor, he taught humanities, social sciences, and first-year experience courses.

As Vice Provost, Dr. Reome collaborates with students, faculty, staff and system leadership, while maintaining close connections with student government associations, student Veterans, and Phi Theta Kappa. He has chaired the Dean of Student Affairs Council, served on CSCU committees, and is active in regional and national higher education associations.

A first-generation college graduate and New England native, Dr. Reome earned degrees from Sacred Heart University, Central Connecticut State University and Johnson & Wales University, where his doctoral research examined college completion among first-generation students.

Campus President, CT State Quinebaug Valley, CT State Three Rivers

A seasoned leader in higher education, Campus President Jukoski has guided Three Rivers through more than a decade of academic transformation, campus development and student success. With the addition of CT State Quinebaug Valley to her portfolio, her expanded leadership now supports both campuses in delivering high-quality, student-focused education aligned with community and workforce needs.

Prior to joining Three Rivers, Campus President Jukoski served for 20 years as President of Mitchell College in New London, CT, where she strengthened academic programs, grew enrollment and fostered a strong campus culture. Her earlier administrative roles include positions at Sacred Heart University, Loretto Heights College, the University of Memphis and Empire State College.

Campus President Jukoski has earned numerous awards for her leadership in higher education, including a W.K. Kellogg Foundation National Leadership Fellowship, the William Crawford Award, the Connecticut Women in Higher Education Leadership Award and the Greater New London NAACP Education Award. In 2025, she was honored with the CT State Three Rivers Campus Student Government Legacy Award, recognizing her exceptional service and lasting impact on students.

She earned her bachelor’s and master’s degrees in English and education from the College of St. Rose in Albany, NY, a master’s degree in curriculum planning and development from SUNY Albany and her doctorate in higher education curriculum and instruction from the University of Memphis.

Campus President Jukoski is deeply involved in the community and has served on numerous boards, including the Eastern Connecticut Workforce Investment Board, Southeastern Connecticut United Way, Otis Library, the Williams School, Yale–Lawrence + Memorial Hospital and the Chamber of Commerce of Southeastern Connecticut. Her leadership has bridged education with economic development and created stronger opportunities for students across Eastern Connecticut.

Manuel Gomez, Ph.D.

Manuel Gomez, Ph.D.

Associate Vice President of Academic and Student Affairs Operations

Dr. Gomez serves as Associate Vice President of Academic and Student Affairs Operations at CT State. He previously held leadership roles as Associate Vice President of Academic Operations and Interim CEO at both Housatonic and Quinebaug Valley.

Before joining CT State, he was Vice President of Academic Affairs at Estrella Mountain Community College in Arizona and Associate Provost and Registrar at National American University, where he oversaw faculty evaluation, credentialing, promotion and professional development to ensure instructional quality across campuses and online programs. He has also served as Dean at Morton College and Illinois Valley Community College, and as faculty at Saint John Fisher College, the University of Arizona and Pima Community College, teaching Spanish, Latin American History and Culture, and Leadership.

His experience also includes serving as Director of Education and Training at the Higher Learning Commission, where he developed curricula on general education and data analysis for more than 1,000 institutions nationwide. Throughout his career, Dr. Gomez has led academic operations, faculty development and curriculum design with a focus on maintaining quality, equity and student success across diverse learning environments.

Dr. Gomez earned his Ph.D. in philosophy with a focus on Spanish literature and culture from the University of Arizona and completed post-doctoral work in community college leadership at the University of Texas, Austin. He is multilingual in English, Spanish and Portuguese.

Michelle A. Coach, Ed.D.

Dean, School of Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM)

Dr. Michelle Coach became the School Dean of STEM in the summer of 2025. She had served as Chief Executive Officer of CT State Asnuntuck, following earlier roles as Interim Dean of Academic Affairs and Biology faculty member. During her tenure as a faculty member, she developed innovative, cost-effective science programs, authored a microbiology lab manual and led Asnuntuck’s biology labs to achieve Biosafety Level 2 classification. Deeply committed to student-centered, real-world education, she and her team secured the prestigious Metallica Scholars Initiative Grant in 2024, expanding workforce and technical education opportunities.

Dr. Coach has contributed to initiatives such as Achieving the Dream, Guided Pathways, accessibility, academic planning, and transfer articulation. She has played a vital role in NECHE accreditation processes and regularly collaborates with partners across higher education, K-12, and industry to support students and staff.

Nationally recognized for her service to Phi Theta Kappa, Dr. Coach has served as New England Regional Coordinator, Faculty Scholar and elected board member, organizing more than 25 regional events. In recognition of her contributions, she received the Shirley B. Gordon Award for Community College Presidents and CEOs.

Dr. Coach holds degrees in biology (B.S., M.S.), an M.B.A., and an Ed.D. in educational leadership. She is passionate about connecting colleges with their communities, expanding workforce opportunities, and amplifying student voices wherever she serves.
