Call for Input: Critiques of NCHEMS and Charter Oak Scaling Reports to Inform Senate Response
The CT State College Senate will produce two reports addressing recent analyses of the CSCU system: one responding to the NCHEMS report commissioned by Governor Lamont and another addressing the Charter Oak Scaling Report developed by Regent Ted Yang of the Board of Regents.
The NCHEMS report, funded by the CT legislature through the Office of Policy and Management (OPM), raises significant concerns about the future of the CSCU system. Meanwhile, the Charter Oak Scaling Report outlines potential transformations in online education, which could impact offerings and instruction at CT State.
To ensure a thorough and representative response, the Senate is actively soliciting detailed critiques of these reports from faculty, staff, and stakeholders across the college system. If you have reviewed one or both reports and want to contribute:
- Identify specific concerns, inaccuracies, implications, or areas requiring further scrutiny within the reports.
- Cite the page number and specific issue you are addressing.
- Provide clear, contextualized analysis to support your critique and aid in shaping the Senate’s response.
Feedback can be submitted via the designated email addresses:

Your insights will be invaluable in ensuring that the Senate’s response reflects the collective expertise and concerns of the CT State community.
