Hola. I am Anarelis Cruz.

I am a proud Latina and currently the executive assistant to the campus President at CT State Tunxis. Previously, I was an alumnus at Manchester Community College. One of the things that I love about CT State is the diversity that we have here and the opportunity that we have to give back to faculty, staff and students, and I am so passionate about education and students, and I love giving back to each student, maybe in a way that wasn't given to me when I was in that situation. So I'm excited to give back, and I look forward to working with you. You can see the impact of your work every day.

Hi. My name is Tracy Dixon. I'm the campus advising lead at CT State Three Rivers. I started at CT State Three Rivers, about 11 years ago as a EA part time. I was a student at Middlesex Community College a gazillion years ago, and I tell anyone who will listen that my community college education completely changed the course of my life.

It opened up doors that I couldn't have even conceived of, things I didn't even know were possible. And so to come back and work here now to support students in the way I was supported as a student is just it's remarkable.

Hello, my name is Sam and I'm an employee at CT State Community College Tunxis.

I've been there since 2006, after I dropped out of college and moved across the country. After I did a little bit of self-discovery, I came back to Connecticut and found my local community college. It was really a support system that I didn't even know I needed.

Really, what I believe is that we put the community in community college. The faculty are extremely collaborative and helpful. The staff are really friendly and the students are really the main reason why I still enjoy working here all these years.

Connecticut State Community College helped me find my path, and I enjoy helping everybody find theirs.

First the team at CT State Community College Police Department is incredible with their leadership style and the fact they want us to succeed and grow in our careers. They are big on training and support us as an agency. This is a brand-new agency which has been built from the ground up.

As far as the campus that I work on, I am so fortunate working with the faculty and staff. Everyone has one thing in common and that is to make sure that our students succeed, whether it is in the classroom or in their personal lives. We as a group are here for them. There is something to be said when you have a student come up to you and tell you how much they appreciate you and what you do. Making connections with our students is what this is about.

The type of policing we do is so very important on our campuses. We are here to do a job as professionals, but we still want to be lively and have fun interacting with our students. This job is community policing on steroids. Whether we are doing Coffee with a Cop or Pops with a Cop, or having service dogs in, helping at the food pantry, or greeting our students at the door, they the students are why we are here. It is our job to make sure that our students, faculty and staff are safe and able to do their jobs.

-Gerry Geyer, Police Sergeant, CT State Three Rivers

  • Testimonial 1

Working at CT State Manchester has allowed me to grow as both a professional and a lifelong learner. The collaboration among colleagues and the genuine care for student success make this a place where supporting students, whether preparing for careers or transferring to four-year institutions, is truly meaningful. Being part of a student-centered community that helps learners see what’s possible in higher education is incredibly rewarding.

-Leo Jones, STARS Program Specialist , CT State Manchester

  • Testimonial 2

Working at CT State Community College has been an incredibly rewarding experience, thanks to a supportive team that fosters collaboration and trust. Each day feels meaningful as I help students from all walks of life pursue and achieve their educational goals. CT State’s commitment to continuous professional development and advancement has provided me with countless opportunities to grow both personally and professionally.

-Danielle Whitaker, Administrative Services Assistant/SNAP Coordinator, CT State Northwestern

  • Testimonial 4

Working at CT State has been quite rewarding. I have greatly appreciated working alongside colleagues who have been generous with their knowledge and commitment to shared success. This has made my transition as a new employee smooth and encouraging. It has been very meaningful that my professional experience is recognized and valued, which has allowed my contributions to be impactful as CT State College continues to evolve and thrive as a pioneering entity.

-Vanessa L. Walton, Administrative Assistant with CT State Community College Police Department

  • Working at CT State has provided me the opportunity to support thousands of students seeking to acquire and expand their knowledge and skills.

Our students bring incredible energy and enthusiasm to our campuses, and celebrating their accomplishments with them reminds us why we do what we do to help them along their academic journey at CT State.

Working at CT State has been a rich and rewarding experience on so many levels. While our students learn from us, we also learn from them.

-Sarah Gager, Dean of Students, CT State Naugatuck Valley

¡Bienvenidos a CT State!

Sonrisas de estudiante hispana [bootstrap-filled--people]

College of Technology

The College of Technology (COT) provides career pathways for students to earn certificates, Associate of Science and Bachelor of Science degrees in Engineering and Technology disciplines. COT reduces barriers to education by providing a seamless articulation between CT State and the four-year partner universities and offering multiple points of entry for completion of degrees.

Programs

The two main transfer programs are Engineering Science, which transfers into many different four-year Engineering Bachelor's degrees and Technology Studies.

See Pathways for details on transfer between CT State COT programs and four-year partner universities.

Professor shows student how to use machine

History

The COT was established in 1992 under Connecticut Public Act 92-126 to form articulation agreements between all twelve Connecticut community colleges and public and private partner universities. This unique infrastructure and governance provide seamless articulation between the community colleges and their four-year partner universities, providing multiple points of entry for degree completion. For over 30 years, the COT has provided leadership for transfer pathways and has been recognized as a model transfer program.

Leadership Structure

The COT is led by a State Director and a Site Coordinator's Council, which meets monthly, includes representatives from 4-year public and private university partners, all campuses of CT State Community College, as well as the Connecticut Technical High School System, and business and industry partners.
