Schedule an Advising Session

Your Guided Pathways (GP) Advisor regularly reaches out to you through your student email with direct links to book an appointment on campus or virtually. To access your email account, log-in to myCTState and look for “View/Access College Email.” If you cannot find any emails from your advisor, please reach out to the Guided Pathways Advising Office.


To find your GP advisor, visit DegreeWorks by logging in to myCTState and select “Access Degree Works.” Your Guided Pathways Advisor will be listed at the top of the page. If you cannot locate your advisor, contact the Guided Pathways Advising Office.


Alternatively, you can identify what student type you are from the categories below and make an advising appointment that way. Please click on the appropriate student type to read more about preparing for and scheduling your advising appointment. Note: The advising requirements may be different for each student type.

Welcome! Students must first apply and be admitted to CT State before meeting with an advisor. Prior to your meeting, please ensure placement documents and transcripts are on file with the Admissions office. This will ensure you receive the best advising experience. Without placement information and/or transfer credits in the system, the GP Advising team will be limited in how they can assist you.

THE STATEMENTS BELOW MUST BE TRUE TO PROCEED WITH SCHEDULING AN ADVISING APPOINTMENT:

  • I have applied and been accepted to CT State Community College
  • I have submitted my high school transcript, official SAT/ACT scores or GED
  • My immunization form and/or matriculation items have been sent to the Admissions Office
    Immunizations are your vaccination records (measles, mumps, rubella, varicella). Matriculation Items may be a copy of your HS transcript, proof of residency or citizenship.
  • I have completed my FAFSA and/or plan to set up payment plan with the business office
  • I have declared a major and home campus at CT State Community College
  • Schedule a PAW Workshop here
  • I have successfully set up my myCTState student account

Continuing students are encouraged to connect with their Guided Pathways (GP) advisor to prepare for registration and their faculty advisor or Program Coordinator to learn more about their degree path. To guarantee time with your advisor, please schedule an appointment. Advisors can meet with you in-person, virtually, or over the phone. Same day service is not guaranteed without an appointment.

  • I have reviewed my progress towards the completion of my degree using DegreeWorks. 
  • I have prepared a list of courses to consider for next semester
  • I have a list of questions to discuss with my GP advisor
