New Students

Welcome! Students must first apply and be admitted to CT State before meeting with an advisor. Prior to your meeting, please ensure placement documents and transcripts are on file with the Admissions office. This will ensure you receive the best advising experience. Without placement information and/or transfer credits in the system, the GP Advising team will be limited in how they can assist you. If you need assistance with your application or with submitting placement documents, please contact the Quinebaug Valley One Stop at: QV-OneStop@ct.edu | 860-932-4020.

Newly accepted students should schedule an appointment with the advisor assigned to their declared primary program. Please note that an advisor may not be assigned upon acceptance but will be once new students have registered. Please view advisor assignments by program below under “Meet the Team and Schedule an Advising Session”. Please note that general studies and liberal arts are assigned by the student's last name.

Continuing Students

(Currently enrolled)
Continuing students are encouraged to connect with their Guided Pathways (GP) advisor to prepare for registration, and their faculty advisor or program coordinator to learn more about their degree path. To guarantee time with your advisor, please schedule an appointment. Advisors can meet with you in person, virtually, or over the phone. Same-day service is not guaranteed without an appointment.  GP advisors are assigned by area of study and degree/certificate program. To schedule an appointment, find your advisor listed in the "Meet the Team" section on this page and click on “Book an Appointment.”
