Are you looking to update your phlebotomy skills and knowledge?
In the Phlebotomy Technician Refresher course, you’ll review and brush up on your phlebotomy skills as well as practice blood draw techniques. This 12-hour class includes classroom learning and simulation labs covering venipuncture, specimen collection procedures, safety and universal precautions, common laboratory tests with clinical significance to body systems and disease processes, and laboratory equipment. Upon completion of this course, you will receive a certificate of completion and be able to sit for the National Health Association Exam.
Please Note: This program does not prepare students to become a certified phlebotomy technician.
In This Course You'll Learn To:
- demonstrate proficiency in up-to-date phlebotomy procedures and techniques
- execute blood draw techniques with precision and accuracy
- apply safety protocols and universal precautions effectively during venipuncture and specimen collection procedures
- identify common laboratory tests relevant to various body systems and disease processes, understanding their clinical significance
- utilize laboratory equipment appropriately and efficiently during phlebotomy procedures
Admission Requirements:
- Must be at least 18 years of age
- GED or high school diploma
- Successfully completed a Phlebotomy Technician program from an accredited institution within the last 5 years.
