Men In Nursing Support Group

The mission of the Men in Nursing Club is to provide support for male nursing students as they navigate the challenges of identifying as a male in a predominantly female profession and to follow the core values of Stewardship, Integrity, and Inclusion to better both the CT State Capital and Hartford communities.

Military Veterans Club

The Military Veterans club is a group of like-minded students, whether a veteran or not, who are interested in giving back to the community while broadening relations with military, veteran, and civilian groups. The club actively participates in events to give back to the veterans in our community. While we mainly focus on giving back to the military and veteran community, we also take part in any event that we believe will make a difference in our community. Some of the events that involve our participation are Toys for Tots, Wreaths Across America, Fresh Check Day and many events with Homes for the Brave. To join, you must either be a veteran, know a veteran or be interested in giving back to the veterans in our community. Please reach out if you are interested in joining.

Minority Nursing Club

CT State Capital Minority Nursing Mentoring Club is a mentoring program designed to support the success of minority nursing students. The program has been organized to provide additional support, encouragement, and guidance to nursing students as they pursue professional goals as well as support the academic success of minority nursing students at CT State Capital. Students will be paired with a mentor who is either a college or community professional who will be available to guide their mentee. The club is committed to the development of each member as they experience challenges in their current role as a nursing student and later as they transition to a registered nurse.

The Multicultural Club is a chance to learn and experience different cultures. All students are welcome to discuss and plan events for all students on the CT State Naugatuck Valley Danbury campus.

Multicultural Club

The Multicultural Club is a safe place to celebrate our diverse cultures in a respectful atmosphere and to exchange knowledge about ethnic food, drinks, languages, music, dance, holidays, events, clothing, history, etc. This club is a learning experience where members share their multicultural knowledge about how to make their favorite ethnic food, how to dress in cultural clothes, or learn a new song or dance. If you’re interested in exploring other cultures, this is a great club to learn and make friends! All cultures are welcome!

The Music and Entertainment Club at CT State Capital is a club that offers great a variety of discussions related to music, dancing, and other entertainment. Students are encouraged to prepare events that display their talents in various genres, video production, dance, and all other forms of media to display their hidden talents in the arts.

Often, the students in the music club form a band that performs around campus and learns songs together, but all students who enjoy discussing and listening to music are welcome.

The Muslim Student Association promotes educational and cultural awareness and appreciation of the Muslim culture. To develop leadership that is responsive to our college and community needs. We encourage diverse membership and provide opportunities for all students to enhance student participation on campus in efforts to strengthen diversity. Our activities will serve to educate our campus community about our rich culture as we celebrate it.

Muslim Student Association (MSA)

The Muslim Student Association (MSA) is a student organization that serves as a platform for Muslim students to come together, engage in religious and cultural activities, and support one another in their academic and personal endeavors.
 
The primary goals of most MSAs include:
  1. Religious Support: Providing a space for Muslim students to practice their faith through prayers, religious discussions and access to resources like Quran study groups and Islamic lectures.
  2. Community Building: Fostering a sense of belonging and community among Muslim students on campus through social events, gatherings and volunteer opportunities.
  3. Educational and Awareness Programs: Examples include celebrating the Eid festival with a lecture on the awareness of Muslim culture and religion.
  4. Advocacy: Addressing issues affecting Muslim students on campus, advocating for their rights, and promoting interfaith dialogue and understanding.
We meet monthly to work and plan workshops and celebrations.
