Criminal Justice Club

The Tunxis Criminal Justice Club strives to bring attention to the positive impact local law enforcement has on our community and allows students to show their appreciation through donation events, acts of service and the ability to share their ideas on potential ways to become active in the policing community. The CJ Club also allows students to network with potential employers, including state agencies, law enforcement and other criminal justice-related professions. Our overall goal as a club is to give back to our community and help students get that first step into their future careers early on in their collegiate journey.

Drum Circle

A drum circle is a group of people who come together to explore playing percussion instruments, build community and make music in the moment. During a drum circle session, individuals are guided by a facilitator who plans the session in such a way as to invite in those who may be hesitant, teach basic beats and design the session in a way that results in optimal positive mental and physical health outcomes for all. Drum circle facilitators are skilled at group facilitation and unconditional acceptance. Drum circles are non-threatening opportunities to bring individuals together to play as one voice-that of the community sitting in that specific circle. No two drum circle sessions are alike, but the goal is always the same to help participants connect with the rhythms within themselves and their worlds, to release stress and find peace and to see in others the unique gifts each person brings to the circle.
