The Employment and Training program is a federally-funded initiative that provides scholarships for SNAP recipients with career training, mentoring and support services to prepare them for job opportunities in the fields of allied health and other fields. CT State is pleased to offer SNAP recipients access to these scholarships, which are administered through the state’s Department of Social Services (DSS), to attend one of our career training programs.
Individuals are eligible if they meet the following criteria:
- Receive SNAP benefits from the Department of Social Services
- Are not receiving TFA/TANF
- Are able and motivated to obtain employment upon successful completion of the program
- Have not been enrolled in a SNAP E&T program elsewhere
